Full Description
A Late Bronze Age - early Roman ditch was identified during an evaluation at Lavender Avenue, Sheppey carried out in 2016. The feature was aligned NE-SW and measured over 14.6m in length, ending in a terminus to the south. The ditch had a recorded width of 0.85-1.29m, and a depth of 0.15-0.3m. A single sherd of flint tempered pottery was recovered from its fill; this dated to some point between the Late Bronze Age and early Roman period and is considered to date the ditch as it does not appear to be residual.
