A small number of medieval features including ditches and pits were excavated during various excavations carried out at Altira Park, near Beltinge.
A field boundary ditch measuring 1.6m in width and 0.36m in depth and dating to 1075-1250 AD was identified to the east of the site. The fill of the feature contained a sherd of medieval pottery. (1)
Two rubbish pits containing 100 pot sherds dating to 1150-1275 AD, charcoal, scrap iron, and animal bone were also identified, alongside the possible recut of an earlier ditch which was established during the later prehistoric period, and was found to contain pottery dating from both the medieval period and the prehistoric and Roman periods. (2)
