Full Description
The earthworks of a post medieval pond can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This rectangular pond, since levelled, is depicted on the 1872 Ordnance Survey map and was situated to the west of St Mary's Bay at TQ 7885 7896. The pond appears to have been dug on the path of a water channel from which it was fed. Spoil dug to create this pond is arranged along the northern and southern sides and the southern spoil heap abuts a possible post-medieval livestock refuge mound.(1-3)
