Monument record TQ 87 NW 1264 - The cropmark remains of a short length of possible trackway of uncertain date (possibly later prehistoric)

Summary

The cropmark remains of a short length of possible trackway of uncertain date (possibly later prehistoric) seen as two parallel ditches aligned WNW-ESE, traceable for c.30m to the edge of the modern field boundary. At the western end the parallel ditches appear to terminate where they meet a gap or entrance in a N-S ditch or boundary. No trace of the parallel ditches of the possible trackway could be seen in the adjacent field to the east. These features were mapped from aerial photographs taken in 1990 as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
