Summary
The earthwork remains of a line of possible post medieval oyster pits seen between the shore and the present-day sea wall at the western end of Dagnam Saltings. These were seen on aerial photographs and mapped as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.

Full Description
The earthwork remains of a line of possible post medieval oyster pits seen centred at TQ 8162 7834 between the shore and the present-day sea wall at the western end of Dagnam Saltings. Nine individual pits were identified, all irregular in shape and ranging in size from 1m x 2m to 4m x 7m. These were seen on aerial photographs and mapped as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1)
