The earthwork of a Second World War bomb crater is visible on an aerial photograph taken in 1946. This crater, since levelled, was situated at Kingsnorth at TQ 8121 7298. The crater, first visible on aerial photographs taken in May 1942, was to the south of the Berry Wiggins oil refinery which was probably the intended target.
