Full Description
Cropmarks of a large pit or depression 16m x 30m of uncertain date visible within a single large field at TR 3600 6741 to the north of Haine Farm which are visible on aerial photographs. Some may be chalk quarries of uncertain date, others may be the remains of natural solution holes. However, at least one Dene hole has been identified by Trust for Thanet Archaeology as a possible Prehistoric flint mine. These maculae were all mapped as part of the Historic England: Ramsgate HAZ project. (1-2)
