Full Description
Foundered following collision with the SS. ESCHOLBROOK, of Grimsby, sinking at 7.30am. The captain of the Grimsby vessel signalled for 'full astern' on the telegraph when collision was imminent, but the engineroom replied with 'full ahead' by mistake, and she plunged into the other vessel, badly damaging her bow. Copper ingots were recovered by Newton Smith Co. of Folkestone in the summer of 1985. Year Built: 1876 Builder: Bowdler, Chaffer and Co.
