Full Description
[TQ 66936618] Hut Site [TI] (1) Pieces of wattle and daub and sherds of what seem to be La Tene pottery, have been excavated at Luddesdown Court by Mr. W. Cobbett Barker who hopes to do further work on the site. (2) Hut Site, Luddesdown. Situated between church and manor house, 60 ft. from the N.W. corner of the churchyard, burnt clay showing signs of timber wattles was found with fragments of early pottery, but no human remains. (?Beehive hut clay covered) (3) No further information. The site lies on the summit at the end of a ridge at appx. 220 ft. (4)
