Full Description
[Area TQ 642660] Post-holes, about 2' wide and 4' deep, at the bottom of which burnt matter, potsherds of pre-Roman date, and in one instance several small pieces of Sarsen stone, have been discovered in the glebe meadow at the rear of the vicarage, Meopham. (1) Enquiries at modern houses built on the edge of the glebe-meadow (including the modern rectory) failed to produce further evidence to the site. Mr. Norton of Meopham Green, a local antiquary, could not help on the subject. (2) No further information. (3)
