Method of Fix: Aerial Photograph Interpretation Photograph Number: KCC 1961 Line 7:6858 Registration No. 125624 A dark, barge-sized shape, feature lying roughly east-west in the intertidal mud. Scouring can be seen to the north. This can be compared with KCC 1967: 1393 on which the feature has become more than half buried since the earlier photograph. The area is not covered on the 1985 survey. On the 1990 survey (KCC 1990 Line 8: 0146) the site appears to have become almost completely covered by mud. The site is reported to be Hereford lying on top of Wiltshire. Herefords remains were visible in 1986 (1). Hereford was built at Sittingbourne by Eastwood in 1907. She was owned by Eastwoods and then the War Department. She is noted as sinking during the war (1).Site photograph (2). Site identified during 2002 survey (3).
