Monument record TR 04 SW 71 - Late Iron Age (Belgic?) settlement site, Orbital Park, Ashford
Summary
A late Iron Age possibly Belgic settlement site was found during archaeological evaluation work in advance of development, near Sevington. Badly ploughed remains were examined by trenching in 1990. Several shallow features including a ditch on the east side of the site and a grouping of smaller ditches, gullies and pits were interpreted as a small farmstead or similar settlement. Pottery dating to the late 1st century BC and early 1st century AD were also found at the site.
