Monument record TQ 65 NE 68 - Mill leat on Addington Brook at Leybourne

Summary

There is evidence that water management systems on Addington Brook were probably linked to Leybourne Mill (TQ 65 NE 67). In Leybourne Woods the Brook has signs of a re-cut and water diverted towards Leybourne Mill. There are the remains of a dismantled bridge, possibly with a sluice, which is approached by a stone revetted, embanked track. Feeder leats also serve the main channel in an adjacent meadow.
