Full Description

Trenching to determine location of possible abbey grange. In one trench a line of sarsen stones were discovered. These had a good face on the south-east side, but a less clear face to the north-west. The core of the structure was filled with pieces of sarsen and large flint nodules. This was interpreted as the footings of a medieval farm boundary. (1)
