Full Description
Early BA site discovered by watching brief on pipe trench in a coombe on the slope below Cheriton Hill and subject to further excavation. Prehistoric post holes and pits, some from the Beaker Period were noted. Anglo-Saxon remains of an occupation site of late 8-early 9th C inc three rubbish pits with pottery and animal bone in the fill along with daub fragments and wattle impressions. No direct evidence of structures was encountered. (1)
