Monument record TQ 83 SE 54 - Mill pond at Tarn pond, Tenterden
Summary
Noted on a tithe map of 1817, the pond was originally a roughly square rectilinear shape with 2 dams, one smaller at the north side, the other larger dam across the south end, where sluices are still in situ. The pond supplied water to Brattle water mill (TQ 8703 3375) which has been traced back to at least 1763. It survives now only as earthworks.
