Monument record TQ 75 NW 124 - Quarry, Hermitage Lane, Maidstone
Summary
The discovery of an infilled pit was reported in Hermitage Lane. The date of the pit is unknown but relates to the extraction of Fuller's Earth. The site lies approximately 600 metres south east of Fullingpits Wood but the precise location is unknown. The find spot was developed for housing in the 1990s. During the evaluation a residual late Bronze Age/ early Iron Age pottery sherd and two possible worked flints were also recorded.
