Full Description
Watching brief located a round pit of open-U section, the fill containing a few sea-shells and many flints, including the calcined nodules, cores and waste flakes. No dateable material, but proximity of Neolithic and Early Bronze Age sites means the feature can be reasonably considered to be pre-Roman. (1)
Two pits are visible as cropmarks on EARTH.GOOGLE.COM XX-APR-2017 ACCESSED 09-NOV-2023. The features were mapped as part of the Thanet Landscape Mapping Project. (2)
