Monument record TR 16 NE 72 - Iron Age ditch, Eddington farm
Summary
Watching brief work revealed a number of ditch sections and a possible occupation horizon. Assessment of these features suggests that the ditch sections represent 1 corner of an Iron Age farmstead enclosure-ditch, which ought to extend to the South and to the West.

Full Description
Sections of ditch located during watching brief with several indeterminate pits or hollows associated with a thin, dark occupation horizon, flecked with charcoal, burnt daub and pottery scraps. Pottery from all features was of the same flint-tempered coarse ware type, of the period c.800-600 BC. Assessment of these features suggests that the ditch sections represent 1 corner of a farmstead enclosure-ditch, which ought to extend to the South and to the West. (1)
