Circular/subcircular enclosed settlement without internal features or entrance sited to TQ 6937 7294 from good quality air photographs (site no. KE 124.6.1). Interpreted as Bronze Age in date. The fragmented cropmark traces of a possible later prehistoric trackway and part of an associated enclosure mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage:Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. Consultation of the photographs sourced above revealed a very poor cropmark of a possible length of double-ditched trackway at TQ 6937 7293, aligned N-S and traceable for 24m. At the southern end of this track the ditches turn outwards, possibly forming the northern edge of an enclosure. The sub-circular enclosures described by the previous authority could not be discerned. Within the same field, to the south-east of this site the cropmark traces of a single ring ditch (NMR Monument:413752) and part of a possible rectilinear enclosure (NMR Monument:765222) could also be seen as faint and fragmented cropmarks on the same aerial photographs.(3-8)
