Full Description
Excavation provided evidence for occupation during a distinct number of periods, the most important being the soil horizon of the LBA/EIA which supports speculation of a settlement. The uppermost RO deposits and medieval pits lay truncated beneath a thick sequence of horizontal, dark brown loam deposits. Likely that truncated horizon created by agro. activity associated with the first of these soils. Loam layers formed poss. 1349 or later, when parishes incorporated after Black Death depopulation. Detailed description not given. (1)
