Full Description

20 handaxes from Bevan's Wash-pit, opposite New Barn Farmhouse, collected by H Stopes in late 19th C. Some of the material was seen by Roe in the Stopes flint collection held at NMW Cardiff (1). The site's location was later identified by Wenban-Smith, together with other material from the same site in Stopes' collection (2). Spurrell describes a late 19th C visit to the site, although he doesn't mention it by name (3).
