Full Description

A large pit, 6m across, was dated from finds of pottery and burnt and struck flint to the late Iron Age/Early Romano-British period. A linear feature containing charcoal and struck flint was also recorded of unknown date. No other archaeological features were encountered (1).

The site was subject to a further excavation in 1998 to retrieve palaeo-environmental information. No further features of remains were encountered. (2)
