Full Description
Watching brief at 6-8 Market buildings uncovered a rubbish pit of mid to late 17thC date. The finds from the pit, pottery, oyster shells, glass bottles, and clay pipe stems suggest that the building was used for commercial use probably an inn. The large brick vaulted cellar reflects the suggested M-L 17thC use of the area as an inn. No documetary investigation was undertaken for this work(1)
