Title | An Archaeological Watching Brief at 6 to 8 Market Buildings, Maidstone |
---|---|
Author/Originator | Canterbury Archaeological Trust |
Date/Year | 1997 |
Abstract/Summary
A watching brief carried out at the building found evidence of a mid to late 17th century rubbish pit. The contents of the pit suggest that the site was used as commercial premises, i.e. an Inn. The large brick vaulted cellar under the current building perhaps reflects this suggestion.
