Full Description

Three principle periods of activity were identified at this site; the late Bronze Age, Romano-British and post-medieval periods.

The Late Bronze Age period was represented by a group of shallow pits and a gulley on higher ground at the west end of the site and two further pits approximately 400m east and north-east respectively of this group. Soil samples taken from two pits were comparatively rich in cereals and the evidence suggests settlement in the immediate vicinity(1).
