Full Description
An early medieval complex of pits and cuts found during an excavation by Canterbury Archaeological Trust, March 2001. in detail: at the north east corner of the site two features, a square pit with rounded corners and a small circular pit were sealed by a layer of grey and pale yellow silty sand. Both of these features cut into the underlying clean yellow sand. Their fills contained pottery datable to 1200-1325. towards the centre of the site a series of roughly circular intercutting pits of varying sizes. All of these features contained a mix of fills. Most produced datable pottery, mostly 1200-1325. (1)
