Building record TR 34 SE 146 - Wanstone (Swingate) HAA Battery
Summary
WWII Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery visible in 1942, 1945 and 1946, located in South Foreland. Gun emplacements were located in the S. Present in the N were three structures, one banked feature that may have been a gun emplacement with associated small structures, four ditched features and a ditch with flanking banks. The site was located directly alongside Wanstone Battery (MKe17934 and Mke41971); this anti-aircraft battery may have served to protect the cross-channel battery.
