Monument record TR 15 NW 600 - Medieval pits, Canterbury
Summary
Three pits of medieval date filled in after about 1350 and cut by later victorian pits. The area has been almost totally destroyed by shallow gravel workings which is unlikely to have begun before c.1400. In one pit a 12th century silver short-cross penny was found. There was no trace of the Roman road believed to be in this area.
