Full Description

Watching Brief undertaken at Foxborough Close, Woodnesborough between August 2001 and April 2002 uncovered a shallow oval pit, of which its full extent could not be determined. The pit contained sherds of a single pottery vessel dating to the Anglo Saxon period, possibly 5th -7th century. Also parts of a quern stone, which is more typical of the late Iron Age or early Roman period. (1-2)
