Monument record TR 16 SE 92 - Early to Late Medieval Occuptation, Sturry, Canterbury

Summary

Trenching prior to the construction of a new sports hall revealed two east-west aligned ditches, a cluster of post holes, a possible beam-slot, a well and several rubbish pits. Although a small quantity of Romano-British pottery was found, which may suggest occupation of some type in the area, this is considered to have been a multi-period site from the late 11th century onwards into the late medieval period.
