Monument record TR 15 NE 430 - 19th Century Walling (Remains Of), 88a Broad Street
Summary
Three sections of 19th century wall built within the infilling deposits of the Roman defensive ditch around Canterbury. They were observed during an archaeological evaluation prior to planning application consent between 87 and 88a Broad Street. It would appear that this walling was originally part of 88a, which must have been larger previously. One section of walling is part of a cellar structure, whilst the other two are built into higher deposits.
