Summary

Site of a Romano-British building is suggested by Roman remains found close to Allington Castle since A.D. 1844. Roman circles and other remains have been noticed at various times in particular in 1844 when four large tiles of a hypocaust pillar were dug up to the west of the castle. Objects from the area are in Maidstone Museum. A field survey at Allington Castle also noted 2 dished earthworks.
