Monument record TQ 75 NW 50 - Belgic Refuse Pit, Scrubbs Lane, Maidstone
Summary
In 1889, a fragment of an Iron Age rotary quern, an early 1st c. AD Belgic cooking pot, and some sherds, from a Belgic refuse pit, were found by a W. Whiteman in 1889 in Scrubbs Lane, Maidstone. No further information could be obtained regarding the exact find-spot but it may have been in the disused quarries north of Scrubbs Lane.
