Full Description
Geoarchaeological assessment of existing technical records, of previous archaeological work within area and a borehole survey. The primary objective of the assessment was the creation of a sub-surface deposit model in order to characterise the patterns of sedimentation across the site (1).
Followed by excavation of ten shallow trenches to assess the upper alluvial deposits. Five deep test pits excavated through the lower alluvial sequence revealed late Neolithic/early Bronze Age activity including Beaker pottery. (2).
