Monument record TR 23 NW 267 - Prehistoric, Romano-British and Anglo-Saxon features discovered at Hawkinge Aerodrome in 2004

Summary

In 2004, 99 trial trenches were excavated to the south of Hawkinge Aerodrome as part of the 'Terlingham III' development. Pits, postholes, gullies and ditches were encountered in the eastern part of the site dating to the late Bronze Age/early Iron Age, late Iron Age/Romano-British and late Roman periods as well as limited evidence of Anglo-Saxon remains.
