Full Description

The location of a former quarry north of Giddyhorn Lane is indicated by the field name "Upper Quarry Field" in an early nineteenth century estate atlas. The present use given in a report dated 1805, referring to a map of Little Buckland Farm dated 1804, shows that wheat was then being grown in the field of over 12 acres, so that any quarry would have pre-dated 1804.(1)
