Full Description
A quarry is indicated on a map of Great Buckland Farm, dated 1804, in an early nineteenth century estate atlas. The relevant 5 acre parcel of land, number 13, is named "Stone Quarry", and is shown as leased to W. & J. Benstead, from 1804. The map has had the later annotation "Old Quarry" added, possibly in 1825, the date of updated estate reports in the atlas. (1)
