Full Description

According the the author of the building survey "The tram shed was constructed sometime between 1899 and 1901 to house tram-cars operated by the Isle of Thanet Electric Tramways and Lighting Company Ltd. The building was constructed within an iron frame of twelve bays with brick walls and proved to be little more than a larege open shed with few internal fixtures and fittings. The iron rails did however survive in-situ within the structure. The building measured 45m in length by 6.6m in width and was aligned north-south. It saw later use as a store for engineering purposes, or possibly vehicle maintenance, and also housed a high voltage electrical test bay in the rear five bays, which had at a later stage in the building's use been divided off."
