Summary

Two shallow pits probable prehistoric date. Occasional finds of charcoal, flint, burnt flint, and flakes of burnt tempered flint pottery. No evidence for extenisve archaeological remains.

Full Description

Trench 1, disturbed mottle silty Head Brickearth, occasional burnt flint and flakes of flint tempered pottery. Above disturbed natural thick deposit of thick concrete brick rubble used as make up during building of present school.

Trench 2, natural mid yellow Head Brickearth. Layer of mottled silty Head Brickearth, layer of brown silty clay above.

Trench 4, two pits cut into the natural Head Brickearth.(1)
