Monument record TQ 76 NE 5 - Site of Romano-British inhumation cemetery, Brook Stone depot, Chatham

Summary

Romano-British burial ground consisting of 11 inhumation burials. Excavated in 1897, at the western end of the stone depot of the Corporation of Chatham, at "The Brook", near the road called Slickett's Hill. Most of the pottery was Castor ware but included some Samian ware. The present whereabouts of these finds is now uncertain as the assemblage has been dispersed.
