Full Description
Eleven Roman inhumation burials were excavated by Payne, in 1897, at the western end of the stone depot of the Corporation of Chatham, at "The Brook", near the road called Slickett's Hill. Most of the pottery was Castor ware but included some Samian. The finds are in Chatham Technical Institute. (1-3) TQ 7632 6779 (a) The finds are no longer in Chatham Technical Institute: they were dispersed some time ago. (4)
