In 2013 a historic building survey was carried out during works in the building. Although historical documents suggest that the plot was occupied by substantial buildings in the medieval period no remains older than the 17th century could be seen in the building. From that time, however, there were numerous remodellings and alterations. (2)

Excavations carried out in 2013 uncovered the remains of a 19th century brick out house to the rear of 68 Stour Street. (3)
