Description from record TR 15 NW 361:
Nos 20, 20A and 21 High Street [TR 14835790 - sited from OS 1/1250 1974]. Grade II. Originally the George Inn. No 20 and 20A. A 15th century timber-framed building refaced in the 19th century containing a medieval celler and gallery. The exterior is early 19th century. No 21. A timber-framed building refaced in the 19th century containinga 12th century cellar and gallery. The exterior is late 18th century.(1) Nos 20 and 20A High Street. Medieval timber-framed building much altered and refaced in 19th century. No 21 High Street. Medieval timber-framed building. Medieval stone undercroft. (2) A 13th century vaulted undercroft and a 14th or 15th century medieval building were discovered during survey and recording work at No 21 High Street. (3)

2. Originally part of the George Inn, this is a C15 timber-framed building refaced in the C19 containing a Mediaeval cellar and gallery. The exterior is early C19. 3 storeys stuccoed. Old tiled roof with bracket cornice and quoins. 4 sashes with vertical glazing bars only, set in Italiamte architraves.
The Public Library and Museum at Beaney Institute, Nos 20, 20A, 21, 24 & King`s Bridge form a group.
