The following text is from the original listed building designation:
EYTHORNE UPPER EYETHORNE TR 24 NE Baptist Chapel 4/41 II Chapel. Dated 1804. Rendered red brick, exposed on return elevations, with plain tiled roof. Plinth with pediment shaped parapet to hipped roof. Two tiers of 2 semi-circular headed glazing bar sashes, with central blank space inscribed: BAPTIST. C20 red brick porch with boarded door and CHURCH 1804 rectangular fanlight. Two tiers of 4 semi-circular headed glazing bar sashes on each return elevation. Interior: Panelled pulpits and apsidal shaped gallery survive. The church built to serve probably the oldest Baptist community in the Country, referred to at the martyrdom of Joan Bourchier, 1550.

The Baptist chapel was built in 1804 and was enlarged to the front in 1842. The walls are of brick with two tiers of round-arched windows, the front is rendered and the roof is hipped and tiled. The front wall is of three bays with a low gable and a blind window above a modern porch. (2)
