Full Description

The Regimental Sergeant Major’s House, which is located just to the south east of Peverell’s Tower on the outer curtain wall of Dover Castle, was originally constructed as an office building for the Royal Engineers in around 1800. It was later used as a pair of houses for the Regimental Sergeant Major, and more recently as a holiday letting property. It is GII listed building. The house is a two-storey brick building with cellar, hipped tiled roof, attic with dormers, built to the south-east of Peverell’s Gateway. It was originally in two parts, with doors and porches in each of the end walls. It is only one room deep, and now has basement kitchens. It has been extensively modernised inside.
