Summary

C17th house Grade II* listed building. Main construction periods 1624 Large house with a fine brick facade to the front elevation, tile hung to the rear with a timber framed core of various dates. The hipped tiled roof has two dormers with carved gables. The earliest part of the house are the remains of a medieval open hall, a range was added to this in the early 16th century to form a courtyard house. Most of this house was pulled down between 1711 and 1730 to make way for the present house. The plaque dated 1624 may have originally come from the gate house.
