Summary
The Kent and East Sussex railway system was extended to run from Tenterden to Headcorn. The line was authorised in 1903 and 9.5 miles of new track opened in 1905. Unfortunately this route quickly became a liablity and was run at a loss until it was eventually closed in January 1954.
