The following text is from the original listed building designation:
YALDING HIGH STREET TQ 6950 (west side) 6/135 The Forge (formerly listed under High Street, North Arm, as 23-5-67 Forge House and Yalding Forge) GV II
House and office, with working forge to rear. Main range C17, with C19 facade. Timber framed. Tarred weatherboarding to most of front elevation, and to gable ends. Central section of ground floor painted brick. 2 storeys and cellar, on brick plinth. Half-hipped roof. Multiple red and grey brick stack towards centre and rear stack towards right end. Irregular fenestration of 3 small and widely-spaced two-light casements. Three three- light casements to ground floor. Door of four fielded panels and two top lights, with flat hood, up three steps slightly to right of stack. Painted brick lean-to to left gable end. Later single-storey forge to rear to left. Interior not inspected.
