Summary

Grade II listed building. Main construction periods 1867 to 1999 The Dock pumping station at Chatham Royal Naval Dockyard was built in 1873. It represents a highly decorative example of Victorian Pumping Stations. Built of red brick, it also has layers of white and blue bricks, some of which are dog-toothed. Summary from record TQ 76 NE 1048: Pumping Station at Chatham royal naval dockyard. It was built in 1873 of red brick with layers of white and blue bricks. On last inspection some of the brickwork appears to be perishing.
