Full Description

The following text is from the original listed building designation:
BANK STREET 1. 1614 No 13 (The Black Boy Public House) TQ 5354/1/56 II 2. Late C18. Painted brick elevation with random stone plinth. 2 storeys. 3-window facade. Projecting eaves and gutter with plastered soffit. Tiled roof, hipped to left. Ground floor with centre half-glazed and panelled door with flat projecting bracketted hood over. Casement window to right under flat, segmental brick arch. Half-glazed and panelled saloon bar entrance to left with side and top lights in pilastered frame with entablature over with carved corona and enriched ovolo moulding. 1st floor with 2 tripartite sash windows with glazing bars to right and left and centre recessed brick panel. Painted figure of "The Black Boy". in centre supported on projecting triangular shaped bracket. Yard to rear of public house with various C16 or C17 gabled outbuildings.

In 1994 a survey on cellars in the Sevenoaks area was undertaken. 13 High Street was found to have the entire floor area taken by the cellar. (2)
